Completed Week In The Life Album

Putting It Together

Now that I have photographed my week, and documented the details, it is time to create the album.
I didn't use any digital templates to format my album (aside from re-sizing photos). I like Ali's use of the large photo and the divided page protector to hold smaller photos and bits of life. My layout for the last page of each day, a collage of photos, is based on her design format. I used the center area to include a quote about life.

For accent paper, I used a paper pad from Hobby Lobby (chosen because I like the color scheme, especially for a summer album). I created some accents and journal cards with PSE. I coordinated the colors to match the paper pad. These were just printed and cut out and added to the pages. I also typed out the quotes to coordinate.

Here is a look at some of the completed pages:

Week In The Life Sunday

I started Week In The Life last Sunday, 7/24, so yesterday was my last day. Since I didn't start the blog in time to post Sunday, I am posting it now. It will appear as the first day in my album.

Sunday starts with church. It is always Mom and I, sometimes Dad or my brother make it into town to go with us.

After church, Mom and I go to Kroger to get groceries. Since she works on weekend, it is time that we can visit while she is in town.

Quick trip home to put away the groceries, and turn on the sprinkler. Mom is going to cook breakfast, and it is Dad's birthday, so I head out there to eat and visit.

We have a good breakfast, and my niece Lizzie is there to join us.

After hanging out a while, I head back home to turn off the sprinkler and do a little housework. In the afternoon, I have some strawberry Kool-Aid and some strawberry bread I picked up at the local Farmer's Market.

The evening is spent relaxing and watching Big Brother, and getting ready for the work week.

That finishes up my Week In The Life project. Tomorrow I hope to make some progress on the album. Photos are ordered and will arrive later this week, then I can put it all together!

Week In The Life Saturday

Saturday is the last day of my week, I started this project last Sunday. I will post Sunday's photos tomorrow.

Iced coffee! It is so hot here (100's!), I like hot coffee in winter, but iced in summer.

Started with the typical Saturday routine, a trip to Wal-Mart, then the library. Got a few things at Wal-Mart, and then checked out a few books at the library, including some back issues of Creating Keepsakes for inspiration!

After that, I went to Dad's to eat breakfast. He had pancakes and sausage. My brother and nephew were there, also, it was great to see them.

The cat always wants to go on the screened porch. He hasn't been going as much since it is so hot, but there he was looking at the door today.

I went out, too, for a little while to read a book. It was really hot, so we didn't stay out long. I love it on cooler evenings in spring and fall, though.

Worked on some page elements that I am making for this album in Photoshop Elements. I picked a paper pack from my stash to use, and have made some things to go with it. I can't wait to put this album together!

Had leftovers for dinner, and finished reading my book. It was a low-key Saturday evening, but that is typical here!

Week In The Life Friday

Hello Friday!

I took the most photos so far this week today.

It was a short day at work, since I put in longer days earlier in the week. Worked on setting up a group of collegiate merchandise and some BBQ items for tailgating (can't believe fall is right around the corner!)

My tool cart at work. It started the week empty!

When I got home I ate a quick lunch (leftover spaghetti) and then worked on editing some photos to use on some layouts and in a summer mini book. (The photo on the screen looks funny at this angle, like a negative. Not at all what it looked like on screen!)

After that, I worked a little on this last week's Project Life layout.

Made some Lemonade flavored Kool-Aid.

Heard thunder outside, was hoping we would get rain (we REALLY need it!). Had to go out at take some photos of the clouds.

While I was out, I took some shots of the crepe myrtle out front.

We didn't get any rain, it just thundered around a while. Found the cat on the bed on top of some clothes. He was posed like a Sphinx!

Last time I did this project, I included a photo of my refrigerator, so thought I would take on this time around to see what has changed.

Did a little house work, then settled in for some reading. It was actually a little cold (the ac vent blows close to my chair, so I put on a blanket.

That sums up my Friday.

Week In The Life Wednesday

I took more photos Wednesday, and they aren't all food!
Here is a look at Wednesday.

I documented my morning routine, getting ready for work. (Trying to include photos of myself!)
It is already 80 degrees at 6am! The sun is just coming up.

Today is our official launch or Justin Bieber's new fragrance Someday. We have life a size cut-out of him. Everyone wants to have their photo taken with it!

Worked on my wall in denim again. First, I put some album covers on the walls to decorate for the Rock and Roll theme in Lucky Brand Jeans.

Next: moving the elements of this wall that I built a few months ago to the two smaller walls.
The walls are a different size, so I had to figure out the combination that would fit.
Once I got it all up, it looked great!

For lunch we went to eat at New Asian. It was good! I always get too much fried stuff, though.

I am trying to take a screen capture of the weather about 4pm each day, just to have a record. I forgot on Tuesday, but got it today. It is HOT out!

Left work a little after 4, and traffic was awful (which is unusual for that time of day). There was a wreck in the river bridge, so traffic was backed up. It took an hour and half to get home (usually takes about 40 min)
When I got home, the cat was wanting to be fed. He gets fed in the morning and when  I get home (his food bowl is MUCH smaller than the water bowl you can see!). I had leftovers for my dinner.
Worked on blog post for Tuesday then relaxed with a book.

Week In The Life Tuesday

Tuesday was a slow photo day, I don't know what happened there. And so much of it documented food! Wednesday will be better!

Got to work early, since we can't go in alone, I waited for someone to arrive. I always have a book with me, so I made the most of it

Ate breakfast at my desk, yogurt (apricot mango) and cherry soda.
Today I continued the floor move, most of the fixturing is moved, now I have to move the signing and props. We had four walls that were covered with white vinyl and two of them needed to be back to brown, so we had to peel the vinyl off. Usually it comes off easier than it goes on, but this time it was difficult. After much peeling, it was done and we had blisters on our thumbs.
Tomorrow we will "decorate" these walls and put merchandise on them.
Time for lunch, I had a sandwich and chips at my desk.

Left work about 4. Stopped at Wal-Mart to pick up some photos for my Project Life album. I have been wanting to start a blog, so I thought this was as good of a time as any, while doing this project. Very excited about it, and posting Week In The Life each day will get me started.
While getting the blog set up, I cooked dinner. I made spaghetti and ate it with some cheese bread. I love pasta!

Posted Monday's Week In The Life on the blog, then went to sleep. Hopefully I will get more pictures tomorrow.
